Its site editor is quite basic, but it’s intuitive, and you will have full code access if you need to fine-tune your customizations.ĭrupal and Joomla both offer some form of design and page editor, but they are quite limited. is, without a doubt, the most beginner-friendly of the three. However, we’ve focused on the platforms’ native editors here. Various drag-and-drop plugins or extensions are also available for all three platforms, which you can use to add a customized editing interface. All three options come with an impressive selection of templates, which present a great place to get started. To compare the performance of these three platforms, we took a close look at how easy it would be for a beginner to build a basic portfolio site with each one. WordPress vs Drupal vs Joomla: Performance The WordPress plugin library contains more than 58,000 plugins (Image credit: Wordpress) 02. Security vulnerabilities are published on the platform website as soon as they are discovered, and they are generally patched within hours. It’s worth noting here that Drupal does place a particularly strong emphasis on security, which could make it a good option for those dealing with sensitive data. In saying that, though, it’s still a good idea to add extra security tools to your site via some sort of add-on. All three platforms boast excellent security practices, with regular updates and security patches where required. However, you still should be able to find everything you need.įinally, we looked closely at security. Joomla does fall behind a little here, with only 8,000 extensions available through the official library. However, many of these are developer-focused, so it might be a little harder to find what you’re looking for. In the native WordPress plugin library, you will find more than 58,000 free and premium plugins to help you with everything from adding a contact form to optimizing your site’s search engine ranking.ĭrupal certainly doesn’t do badly either, with more than 46,000 modules available that you can install to your site. When it comes to add-ons to extend the functionality of your site, WordPress comes out ahead once again. It’s still possible, of course, but because of the lower popularity of these platforms, you should expect to pay for a premium theme.Īll three CMS enable you to upload a custom theme, which is great for those who truly want to create a personalized website. On the other hand, it’s much harder to find a high-quality free theme for either Drupal or Joomla.

I know this wasn't a review per se of OmniFocus, but I figured you might get some use out of my thoughts on the genre in general.īottom line - I use Things on my iPhone and Mac. I can't say what using it is like since I didn't buy - and won't - but I can say that the use of the iPad for task management is dubious based on the cons I listed above. If it does, then it might be a heck of a lot better task manager than Things. I don't know if OmniFocus for iPad has cloudsync. With iOS4 that's not a big deal on the iPhone - and on your Mac it's not either - but on the iPad it means leaving your current context entirely - whatever that happens to be - which once again imo renders the experience less than stellar. So I don't know - how much do you currently use your iPad? Does it coincide with the times where you are likely to use a task manager? And remember that to "enter" tasks - and to read them - you have to fire the app up. If it had cloudsync it would likely get some use. What does all this mean? Well I stopped using Things on my iPad since I don't use my iPad in most of the contexts where Things would be useful (e.g. Totally non-functional for real world usage. Works great for the first three times you try it and you're all excited about the feature. While Things does have a sync feature, it uses your Mac as a hub, and you have to have it running on both systems on the same network at the same time. So - what's my Things experience been like? I loved using it, but the lack of a cloud sync is a deal killer. Seems expensive, unless you put your time management in perspective, then it seems like a bargain. So I decided to buy Things for Mac, then iPhone, then iPad. Just for perspective, I love Omnigraffle so I am in no way an Omni* hater. I feel it's overly complex and I didn't like using it as much as I liked Things. Thank you for reporting spam and other rule-breaking content. In addition to combat, the game also features some platform game elements, as well as a system of upgrades to unlock new moves, abilities, and perks, which can be purchased with gears, an in-game currency earned in combat or by exploring levels. Each division is based on a particular musical style, and Chai engages in boss battles at various points. The game takes place across multiple linear stages, representing various divisions of the antagonist corporation. In addition to the beat-em-up action mechanics, there are also rhythm-based minigame elements where players repeat cues in a call-and-response fashion, or press buttons in rhythmic sequence based on on-screen cues. A parry move allows players to cancel enemy attacks by pressing the button at the exact moment of attacks. Attacking on rhythm is not required, as actions automatically sync up with the music, but by timing the button presses right the players are rewarded with higher damage output and timing-based combo finishers deal additional damage. Hi-Fi Rush is a rhythm-action game where the protagonist Chai, his enemies, and parts of the environment move to the beat. The game received generally favorable reviews upon release from critics, who praised its visual style, art direction, humor, characters, and combat, though some noted its repetition, level design, and limited soundtrack. Hi-Fi Rush includes licensed music from bands such as The Black Keys and Nine Inch Nails. Labelled a "defect" and hunted by the corporation that transformed him, Chai bands together with new friends to defeat the company's executives and put a stop to their plans. The game follows self-proclaimed "future rock star" Chai (voiced by Robbie Daymond in English and Hiro Shimono in Japanese), whose music player is accidentally embedded in his chest during experimental cybernetic surgery, allowing him to rhythmically fight and re-perceive the world through environmental synesthesia. It was announced on Januand released worldwide the same day. The numbers climb to 900 hp and 810 lb-ft of torque on E10 (pump fuel containing a 90% gasoline and 10% ethanol blend) before maxing out at 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque with 85% ethanol race fuel. From there, things only get spicier as every other model gets a V8 engine. It is definitely intended simply as a mirrored backup of the drives you point it to, not to be used as an easy to use web interface like Google Drive or OneDrive. I've used Backblaze Personal for a while now. I don't know if the same data restore options exist for Backblaze Personal. The next shipping tier up is $550 + $3000 refundable, where they send you a NAS. If you do pick B2, try to keep your data in buckets no larger than 8TB each, just in case you need to request your data on a hard drive for $189. Haven't tested a big restore from backblaze (It's far from cheap to restore from b2.) but smaller 'test' restores have worked as expected for me. This is because crypt disables the hashing/upload validation and doesn't seem to encrypt filenames, it appears to obfuscate them instead (the last time I checked). I use gocryptfs (separate software) to encrypt files instead of rclone's crypt feature. You could use the s3 compatible API if you wanted to though. Rclone uses the native b2 api instead of the s3-compatible one, which adds a couple neat features like hashing prior to upload (for validating an upload - done automatically by default) and server side file comparison. I have a lot of questions, sorry if it has been asked somewhere Might consider the B2 storage in the future, $5/TB/Month to store and $10/TB to download doesn't sound too bad. Note: I am very cheap, so I don't think I'll be using the b2 storage for now. And thats how they keep the prices low, because most people wont have over 10s or 100s of tb of storage in their computer. Okay, so from what I understand so far is that the only "limit" for the Backblaze personal backup is my own total harddrives capacity because its basically a 1 to 1 clone on their server, so any modifications, deletions etc are also mirrored to the backup. What if i stop backing up to backblaze (remove the backup client) but keep paying the $6 monthly. If I just load it up with a bunch of harddrives (Including all my external harddrives) and then back the whole thing up to backblaze as an offsite backup will I get in trouble with them?Īlso with Backblaze do you also get a Google Drive style interface to upload, download and manage files, or is it limited to just backing up your harddrives and restoring them?Īnd last question out of curiosity, how does backblaze give unlimited storage for just $6/month?Įdit, more questions: I just read that if i delete a file from my harddrive it will also get deleted from the backup after 30days for the regular plan (which would make sense), is that correct?īackblaze says that it also backs up external drives, how does file deletion work on those? What if i delete the file on another computer? What if i back it up and never connect the drive to the computer ever again? What will happen if i replace a drive? (To upgrade or replace a broken drive) Here is what i was thinking i want to do: I have an old computer running Windows 10, and i use it as a NAS and as a self hosted media server. What are your experiences with it? Any limits, terms, or fine print that I should know before putting all my data on there? Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context.īackblaze personal backup is $6/month/computer and it looks like its completely unlimited, that just sounds too good to be true. On Fridays we'll allow posts that don't normally fit in the usual data-hoarding theme, including posts that would usually be removed by rule 4: “No memes or 'look at this '” We are not your personal archival army.No unapproved sale threads, advertisement posts, or giveaways.
